Matthew Goudeau (born March 11, 1977 in Modesto, California) is Director of the City and County of San Francisco’s Grants for the Arts.[1]

Prior to joining Grants for the Arts in 2019, Matthew held positions at the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Protocol, where he served in five mayoral administrations over a period of 17 years.[2] Matthew worked previously at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas from 2014-2015 and The 500 Capp Street Foundation in San Francisco from 2015-2016.[3] [4][5]

A sixth-generation Californian, Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and a St. Ignatius Institute Certificate from the University of San Francisco. Matthew is a founding member of the Artadia Junior Council West. [6] He is a former director of Friends of the San Francisco Public Library[7] and ArtCare: Friends of the San Francisco Arts Commission. [8]
