Matteo Morvillo (born 11 August 2007) is an Italian software developer. He gained national attention for creating the mobile applications Cucinalo (2024) and Ristruttura3D (2025). In March 2025, StartupItalia included him in its annual list of twenty young innovators, Ventidifuturo.
Early life and education
Morvillo was born in Massa Lubrense, Campania, and studies Information Technology and Telecommunications at the San Paolo Polytechnic Institute in Sorrento.
Career
While still in secondary school, Morvillo began programming small projects during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown.
Cucinalo (released 27 December 2024) is an anti-food-waste app that suggests recipes based on ingredients entered or photographed by the user.
Ristruttura3D (launched July 2025) allows homeowners to visualise home-remodelling projects in augmented reality.The app was later featured in a report by RAI’s regional news programme TGR Basilicata.
Recognition
Media outlets such as Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica have covered Morvillo’s work. In January 2025, the morning programme Unomattina on Rai 1 aired a segment on Cucinalo. The same year, he was selected for StartupItalia’s Ventidifuturo list of emerging innovators.
