Matt Leal (born June 6, 1984) is an American film director. He is best known for directing Tales from the Grave: The Movie and Hacked.[2]

Career

In 2018, Leal directed the segment What We Leave Behind starring Kansas Bowling for the horror anthology film Tales from the Grave: The Movie.Leal and Matthew Festle co-directed Hacked[3] starring Jackson Turner, Shawn C. Phillips, Alan Maxson and Thom Mulligan during the Covid-19 pandemic with a production crew of their roommates living in the same house that served as the one location of the film while following California mandated testing, social distancing, prop and equipment sanitation, and PPE procedures to ensure cast and crew's safety.

In November 2020, Leal crowdfunded $33,000 for his upcoming indie cult-horror film ShadowMarsh (formerly titled Blood Beast)[4] starring Lew Temple, Dave Sheridan, and Felissa Rose.
