Matt Haycox is a British entrepreneur, investor, TV personality, podcaster, and philanthropist. He has garnered attention for his business ventures, his philanthropic endeavours, and his public persona.

Formerly the head of a chain of UK strip clubs, Haycox later became bankrupt following the financial crash.

Haycox's journey from bankruptcy to success has been well-documented, as have his contributions to different charitable causes.

Early life and education

Matt Haycox was born on 25 December 1980. From a young age, he had an early introduction to the business world, accompanying his father to board meetings. He later said that his parents wanted him to pursue academia, but that he was naturally drawn to business.

He began a career in sales at his father's corporate clothing company, which he later ran, transforming significant losses into profit.[1]

Career

By the age of 26, Haycox's business portfolio included a combination of over 50 pubs, several large retail stores, and Wildcats, a chain of lap-dancing clubs.

However, when the 2008 financial crash occurred, Haycox became bankrupt and was served a 12-year ban on serving as a company director, which lasted until 2022.[2]

Haycox also hosts The Matt Haycox Show. The podcast has seen guests such as Kerry Katona, Katie Price, and Levi Roots.[3]

Philanthropy

Beyond business, Haycox is known for his charitable work. He has made headlines for financially backing individuals and causes, such as supporting a struggling mother's business venture following his appearance on Rich House, Poor House[1].

In 2017, he donated £16,000 to the fund of a 9-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer. The child and his family were raising money for a surgery that would help him walk unaided.[4]

Television appearances

Haycox has appeared on reality television several times, including appearances on Rich House Poor House[5] and The Real Housewives of Cheshire.[6]

Personal life

Haycox lives in Dubai with his partner Elena, with whom he has one child. He also has a daughter, Harlie, from a previous marriage.[1]
