Mathaniya is a small village of 1256 hectares in Pirawa Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mathaniya depends on Pirawa, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 304.16% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mathaniya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mathaniya's pin code is 326036[4], and village code is 04101800. The area of Mathaniya is segregated as 304.16 hectares irrigated area, 472.74 hectares unirrigated, the 251.18 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 50.88 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pirawa and Jhalawar to sell earthen pot and make their living.
