Mathaniya is a small village of 600 hectares in Bhinay Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mathaniya depends on Vijainagar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mathaniya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mathaniya's pin code is 305624[4], and village code is 02559100. The area of Mathaniya is segregated as 49 hectares irrigated area, 227 hectares unirrigated, the 283 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 19 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Vijainagar and Ajmer to sell mawa and make their living.
