Mate Božić (born February 28, 1981.) is a Croatian historian and writer.[1]

Biography

Mate Božić was born in Split, where he attended gymnasium and graduated history and philosophy at the University of Split - Faculty of Humanities. During his study at the university he was one of initiators of student historical society "Toma Arhiđakon"[2], student history journal "Pleter" and "Odraz".[3] He is member of the Croatian Heraldic and Vexillological Association [4], and also coordinator of "Regnum Croatorum" (project of archeological tourism), "Škola heraldike" (Klis)[5], and "Mala škola filozofije" (Solin).[6] [7] [8]

Božić primary field of scientific interest is research of Croatian heraldic theory and practice[9] and also historical-philosophical themes of the Croatian early Middle Ages.[10] He presents and popularizes his findings by the "GottschTalk" blog posts and as a columnist through the series of columns published by web portals of Split[11] [12], Kaštela[13] and Solin[14] [15] [16], where he lives and works[17]
