Massimo Ammaniti (Rome , 22 July 1941) is an Italian psychoanalyst, teacher and writer.
Biography
He studied at La Sapienza University, where he graduated in 1965 in Medicine and Surgery. He began teaching General and Developmental Psychopathology (degree course in Psychology) in 1973. After 11 years he became an associate professor at Sapienza, while in 1994 he became a full professor of Developmental Psychopathology. In 2011 he ended his teaching role. Father of Niccolò Ammaniti, in 1995 he published the book Nel nome del figlio together with him. In 2017 he published an essay entitled La curiosità non invecchia. In 2023 he received an honorary degree in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Cagliari. The psychoanalyst has over two hundred scientific works. In the field of developmental age, he is one of the most well-known Italian psychoanalysts.
