Masi Sadayan (1978- ) is a member of the Irular Snake Catchers’ Cooperative society in Chennai[1]. He belongs to the Irula people|Irula tribe from the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, India. He has been catching snakes since he was sixteen.[2] He, along with Vadivel Gopal was conferred with Padma Shri award in the field of Social work by the Government of India in 2023.[3][4] The duo is specialized in anti-venom extraction and saved many people by catching poisonous snakes found in various human habitats using traditional techniques. With the help of herpetologist Romulus Whitaker they went to Thailand in 2016 and to the USA in 2017[5] where they caught Burmese pythons through a pilot Python detection project funded by the Florida University.[6]

He is survived by his wife Suseela and three children.[2]
