Maryam Kouchaki

Maryam Kouchaki is a researcher and assistant professor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She is an Iranian from Soumesara, Gilan. She has a bachelor's and master's degree in physics from the Sharif University of Technology, a doctorate in organizational behavior from the University of Utah, and a postdoctoral degree from Edmond J. Safra of Harvard University.

Biography

Kouchaki was born in a monastery in Gilan province, Iran. She is the nephew of Jabar Kouchinejad, the representative of Rasht in the Islamic Council.[1]

Career

Kouchaki has obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in physics from Sharif University. After that, in 2012, she studied for a doctorate in organizational behavior at the University of Utah.[2] A post-doctorate at the Edmond J. Center. Safra studied at Harvard University.[2][3][4]

She has been researching at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois since 2014. Kouchaki is currently working as an associate professor at the university mentioned. In her research, she is focused on "understanding the dynamic nature of moral decisions" and "how the psychological experience of people in terms of psychology in everyday moral encounters".[3][4][5]

The results of Kouchaki’s research have been published in various academic journals such as New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Huffington Post.[3]

In 2020, the Poets & Quants website published a list of the top 40 young professors under the age of 40 in the field of management, and the name of Kouchaki was also included among these 40 professors, along with Alireza Ahmadsimab.[6] [7][8] [9]
