Mary Kircher Roddy has been a board certified genealogist since 2019, and is also a member of the National Genealogy Society and the The Association of Professional Genealogists. She received a Bachelor's of Science in Liberal Studies at the University of California, Riverside as well as Masters in Professional Accounting at the University of Texas at Austin. She has given numerous lectures and many publications on genealogy. In fact, she now coaches people on finding their ancestors. She focuses on 19th and 20th centuries people with Irish-American heritage.[1]

Kircher is one of the founders of the Applied Genealogy Institute, alongside Lisa S. Gorrell, and Jill Morelli. This institution's mission is to inform students about genealogy by using a practicum-based approach. They believe this style of "learning by doing" effectively reinforces things learned in a classroom setting.[2]
