Marwa Saeed Mohamed Khalfan Al Mamari (Arabic: مروة سعيد محمد خلفان المعمري born 15 February) is the First Emirati Aerospace Engineer who joined General Civil Aviation Authority since October 2021.[1]

Education

Marwa Al Mamari received her bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering from Emirates Aviation University, Dubai and Coventry University, UK.[2]

In 2019, she proceeded with studying Master of Science in Aviation Safety, and was rewarded with distinction in April 2022 MSc Aviation Safety from Coventry University, UK and Emirates Aviation University, Dubai.[3]

Career

Marwa started her career at age of 19 years old, when she was still studying, she worked in HSBC as a credit card officer, then moved to Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and worked in different roles, Islamic Finance, Manpower and Human Resource.

She started her online Magazine, Salfa Magazine in 2013 as the Editor in Chief, however, for personal reasons, she shut it down.

In 2017, she started a career in teaching and lecturing until today.

Marwa joined General Civil Aviation authority (GCAA) in October 2021 while she was finishing her thesis in Master of Science degree, when she was offered the job of Accident Prevention and Safety Recommendations Specialist.[4]

Marwa has been involved in identifying the trends that leads to Air Accidents and analyzing the data for risk management, by managing the Safety Recommendations issued by Air Accidents and Investigation Sector, along with the SR issued by other States addressed to GCAA and other UAE aviation organisations and national carriers.

She was also incharge of running Accident Investigation Education programs, in purpose to improve Safety through well defined role in the State Safety Program (SSP).

Al Mamari has been involved in many aviation seminars, webinars and conventions, and lately she was invited to give a TED talk.

Al Mamari was celebrated and interviewed by many media channels, and magazines, like MBC and Marie Claire.[5] [6]

Personal Life

Marwa is married and a mother of two. Her sister is Fatma Saeed Al Mamari, the first women across all security sectors in Dubai Police to obtain motorbikes driving license, and was able to establish the very first Women’s Motorbike Team in the Middle East. She deservedly received the first place in the International Association of Police Chiefs Award in the United States of America under the age of 40, she achieved (20) championships, most notably the first place in the Emirates Challenge Championship for tactical teams “SWAT”.[7] [8]
