Marvin Rauf is an English entrepreneur and Ambassador At Large for the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Microalgae Spirulina Against Malnutrition (IIMSAM) observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council. He is the founder of the non-profit organisation Marvellous Foundation.

Early Life

Marvin Rauf was born and raised in England. Rauf’s parents are of Jamaican and Kashmiri descent.[1] At the age of 15, Rauf began trading in antiques under the guidance of his grandmother.[2]

He received a Bachelor’s Degree in IT and Graphic Design and received his Doctorate Degree from Cambridge University in 2010.[3]

Career

Marvin Rauf started his career in Hallmark Cards. He was a Graduate Graphic designer.[4]

He founded multiple companies in design, print, transportation, telecommunications, and household waste and metals recycling. Rauf’s companies have created employment opportunities for ex-offenders, homeless young adults and young adults.[5]

In 2012, he founded Marvellous Foundation, a nonprofit organisation that provides assistance to African communities.[6]

In 2021, Marvin Rauf became an ambassador at large for the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Microalgae Spirulina Against Malnutrition (IIMSAM) observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council. He was appointed by secretary general H.E. Remigio Maradona.[7]

Awards and Recognition

Philanthropy

In 2012, Rauf visited Gambia and invested money into water and sanitation projects in rural communities.[1][9]

Rauf, as part of the Marvellous Foundation, visited Nairobi, Kenya. The foundation provided assistance to the Good Samaritan Rehabilitation Centre and Good Samaritan Children’s Home.[10]

Rauf, in his capacity as Ambassador At Large for IIMSAM, works in cooperation with the United Nations in scientific research and humanitarian use of microalgae spirulina as food.[11]
