In 2023, Karu made his opera debut as the title character in Elmo Nüganen’s production of G. F. S. Bach’s St. John Passion for the first time at the Grand Auditorium of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal, alongside the Gulbenkian Orchestra.[7]
