Mark Spears is an American comic artist currently working on Spawn covers for Image Comics and covers for DC Comics.

Career

Spears won the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards Artist of the Year in 2020.[1] In 2022, Spears did the poster artwork fo Spirit Halloween the Movie and his artwork can be seen in the movie as well.[2] Spears also did 'Monster' concept cards for the movie that were teased before the movie's release.[3] In 2023, Spears was featured in the Artist Spotlight by Todd McFarlane and was given covers to Spawn, Scorched, King Spawn and Gunslinger Spawn all in the same month.[4] Spears was selected for the Svengoolie Artist Collection on MeTv for July 2023.[5] He did a cover for Boom Studios Power Rangers #111 released in August of 2023.[6]

Spears released a trading card series featuring his own artwork in 2021 called "Mark Spears Monsters".[7] He followed that up with a "Halloween Edition of Mark Spears Monsters the following year and a Series 2 of the Mark Spears Monsters will be released fall of 2023.[8]

Spears was born in Huntsville, Alabama and graduated from New Hope High School in New Hope, Alabama.
