Mariliis Pikkar (born Mariliis Soobard on December 9, 1985) is an Estonian fashion designer, and the founder, creative director, and designer of the fashion house Marimo.[1] [2][3]
Education
Mariliis Pikkar holds a master’s degree in materials technology from Tallinn University of Technology. In 2022, the university included her in its list of successful alumni, among whom a promotional video was filmed to introduce the materials technology programme.[4]
Career
In 2010, she founded the fashion brand Marimo, which operates in Tallinn’s Old Town (Müürivahe 17)[5] From 2011 to 2013, she worked as a visiting lecturer at Tallinn University of Technology, assistant to the head of the textile design department at the Estonian Academy of Arts, and later as project manager[6]and lecturer for the international fashion and innovation initiative Baltic Fashion in the fashion design department.[7]
Personal life
Mariliis is married to Raido Pikkar. The couple, who married in 2018, have three children.[8][9]
