Mariel Lohninger is a production sound mixer on movies, television, and documentary productions[1]. He is based in Tokyo, Japan[2] and Los Angeles, California, and has worked on productions through the world. He received a contributing 2019-2020 Primetime Emmy Award[3] for his work as Audio Supervisor on Queer Eye.

Lohninger was born 1982 in Vienna, Austria, and spent his school years in Austria, France, and the United States. He graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School in 2000, and received an Associate of Arts degree from Santa Monica College in 2002. While he was going to college, he was training sound engineering under his father, Karl Lohninger, who was working as a production sound mixer in Los Angeles. In 2002, Lohninger began working as a sound mixer.
