Marie Voignier is a French artist who creates documentaries and visual arts in which she tackles both political and social ideas.[1]

Marie Voignier was born in Ris-Orangis, France in 1974 and currently resides in Paris, France.[2]

Voigner is well known for her 2017 documentary, Tinslewood which explores the effects of inherited colonialism.[3] This documentary was screened at Marseille Festival of Documentary Film and awarded the Georges de Beauregard International Prize. Marie Voignier has had various documentaries and films featured in galleries and museums. Her first solo exhibit was in 2010 and was held at a gallery in Marcelle Alix which is located in Paris, France. In 2011, Voigner created her first full length documentary titled Hypothese Du Mokele-mbembe. In 2014, her feature about North Korea titled International Tourism won the Georges de Beauregard National Prize Special Mention as well as the Marseille Espérance prize at the FID Marseille.[4] In 2019, she worked on a documentary titled Na China which was a part of a residency at Guangdong Times Museum located in Guangzhou|Guangzhou, China.[5] Na China was released in 2020 and was selected at Visions du Réel which is an international film festival in Nyon, Switzerland.[6]
