Marguerite Gance (born Marguerite Danis; 20 June 1894 – 12 April 1986) was a French film actress of the silent film era. She was the wife of French film director Abel Gance whom she married in 1922.
Career
In 1927, she played the part of Charlotte Corday in Abel Gance's Napoléon (1927 film) and the following year in 1928, she was offered the role of Madeleine Usher in Jean Epstein's The Fall of the House of Usher (1928 French film).
Personal life
She married Abel Gance in 1922. Gance had previously been engaged to her sister, Ida Danis who died of tuberculosis in 1921.[1] Interesting detail, she would sometimes sign her letters Abeline Gance.
