Margot Cavazzoni Shore (born March 15, 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Première Ligue club Marseille and has been called up to the Italy national team.
Early life
At the youth level, Shore played for the Ottawa Fury and was selected as the top-ranked goalkeeper of the 1997–98 age group.[1]
College career
Shore began her college career in 2014 at the The University of Pittsburgh, where she played as a goalkeeper for the women's soccer team in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC)[2].
In 2016, Shore transferred to the University of Ottawa to continue her athletic career with the Gee-Gees women's soccer team. She was the starting goalkeeper on the team that won the U SPORTS National Championship in 2018 where she recorded 5 saves[3]and was named to the Tournament All-Star Team[4]. Shore made 43 appearances for the Ottawa Gee Gees recording 116 saves and 84.7% save percentage.[5] The team also won the FISU University World Cup in China in November 2019[6][7]
Club career
Shore started her club career in 2020 in Serie C playing for Lecce.[8] She signed with Pink Bari in Serie B for the 2021–22 season followed by a two-year contract with Hellas Verona from 2022–24[9] and Bologna FC 2024–25.[10]
On 24 July 2025, Shore signed for Première Ligue club Marseille [11].
International career
As a dual citizen, Shore is eligible to represent either Canada or Italy.[11]
In 2024, she was called up for the first time to the Italy women's national football team[12]to compete in the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 qualifying[13] and the UEFA Women's Nations League[14]double headers and international friendlies.[15]
Personal life
In 2020, Shore graduated with a degree in civil engineering from the University of Ottawa.[16]
