Marcelo Sebastião Luz Barroso (Rio de Janeiro-RJ, January 18, 1969) is a Brazilian director, screenwriter, producer and entrepreneur.

He is the director of the documentary Fédro, which premieres in the second half of 2021. The documentary records the reunion between actor Reynaldo Gianecchini and his mentor, director José Celso Martinez Corrêa, for the first reading of the dialogue “Fedro”, by Plato.

Sebá was the first Brazilian to assume the creative direction of the Pirelli Calendar, in 2009. The publication included the participation of photographer Terry Richardson and models Ana Beatriz Barros, Gracie Carvalho, Abbey Lee Kershal, Daisy Lowe and Miranda Kerr.

Biography

Marcelo Sebá was born in Rio de Janeiro on January 18, 1969. He grew up in Santa Cruz, a suburban region of Rio de Janeiro.

He studied at the Coronel Berthier Municipal School located at the Santa Cruz Air Base.

In his youth he moved to the Leblon neighborhood to take an English course. There, he met actress Bel Kutner who introduced him to Dina Sfat. After some time, Marcelo moved to Dina Sfat's house, becoming friends with her family. Under their influence, he began his training at the theater school O Teatro O Tablado.

In his professional trajectory, he has been producing theater, dance, concerts, music albums, advertising campaigns and cinema, with artists Lília Cabral, Pedro Cardoso (Brazilian actor), Miguel Falabella, Cláudia Jimenez, Taís Araújo, Arlete Salles, Carolina Ferraz, Bibi Ferreira and others .

In 2000, he founded the first agency specializing in fashion and behavior in Brazil, where he made campaigns[1] and advertising films for brands such as Cavalera, Ellus, Forum, Sergio K, among others.

He was marketing director[2] for the Italian brand Diesel (brand)|Diesel in Brazil between 2001 and 2008 .

In 2007, he was associate producer of the film "Drained" (2007), starring Selton Mello and directed by Heitor Dhalia.

In 2017, he signed the creative direction and script for "Vai Malandra[3]", by Anitta (singer)|Anitta, and the documentary "Tudo Vai Dar Certo", with trans rapper Triz Rutzats. Directed advertising videos for Sergio K and Cavalera brands.

In 2018, he directed and wrote the video clips "Solta a Batida" by Ludmilla (singer)|Ludmilla and "Sou+EU" by Gaby Amarantos.

In 2020, he directed the short films “Vidas Roubadas”, with Carolina Ferraz, Mariana Ximenes and Joaquim Lopes, and “Amado Fédro”, with José Celso Martinez Corrêa.

In 2021, he directed “FÉDRO”, a poetic documentary that promotes the reunion between actor Reynaldo Gianecchini and his mentor, director José Celso Martinez Corrêa, for the first reading of the dialogue “Fedro”, by Plato, adapted by Zé Celso.
