Mara Sol (real name Samara Donald, born Hicks) is an American singer-songwriter from Coachella Valley, California. She is unsigned and self publishes her music.
Biography
Early life
Born in Fresno, California, Mara Sol grew up in a musical family a musical family, and started singing in musical theater from the age of 7. She trained in classical voice at Cornish College of the Arts and the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. After a break from her early years performing, the artist has found her way into songwriting spurred by a COVID project to learn guitar and how to produce music herself. She has a BA in Communication with a Music minor, and a Master of Arts in Sociology.
Music career
Mara Sol has released 12 singles to date, including the singles Bone Dry, Be Still , Hold on My Love which gained placements on numerous Spotify playlists [1] In October, 2022 she released her first EP, Walking the Road which received airplay across internet radio. [2] She released Like Fire in April 2023, which she wrote, recorded, produced, and engineered herself, as covered in press: "Mara Sol reminisces on her latest single, Like Fire".
