Manukula Kesari (994 CE - 1021 CE) was the third son of Rajendra Chola I. He was much needed in all the wars that took place at that time. Moreover, he was very helpful to his father in the Chola-Chalukya war of 1015 CE and then to his elder brother Rajadhiraja Chola in the Pandyas revolution of 1018 CE. His war against Chera king Baskara Ravi Varma is notable. He won that battle and was crowned governor of the Chera dynasty by his father in 1018 CE.
