Manu C. Kumar (born June 3, 1983) is an Indian scriptwriter-director, who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema. He made his directorial debut with lighthearted entertainer Shesham Mike-il Fathima (2023), starring Kalyani Priyadarshan. It bagged the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist (2023) for Thennal Abhilash. Manu wrote the script for director Sanal Devan's Varaham, which features Suresh Gopi, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Manu started his career in journalism. As a reporter with Manorama News channel, he won two national awards, including the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award.[1]
Personal life
Manu hails from Thalavady in Alappuzha district. His parents are KG Chellappan and Karthikakutty. He graduated from St Aloysius College in Edathua, before studying journalism in the School of Communication and Journalism at the MG University Campus, in Kottayam. He is married to Vineetha VJ and they have two sons.
