MankojiRao Herekar (1662-1725) was born in a Suryavanshi Rajput family in Bijapur Sultanate , Maharashtra. Mankoji was a Great Unsung Warrior his warefares were unpredictable and were widely used by 6th peshwa shrimant Balaji Vishwanath pant. According to kincaid & paranis Mankoji entered the Maratha Empire Administration during the reign of Peshwa Balaji Vishwanath , later he was assined as subsardaar of Bijapur Sultanate, Shrivardhan. from (1684-1725). After Peshwa Balaji Vishwanath died 12 April 1720, his son Shrimant Baji Rao I was appointed as 7th Peshwa of Maratha Empire by Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj shahu. Mankoji's warfares was also used by BajiRao Ballal and his brother Chimaji Appa and by the time Mankoji's death 18 May 1725, his son YasajiRao Herekar took over and served Peshwa and also Maratha Empire proved himself as the most loyal and honest sardaar. YasajiRao took over his fathers position in Ganpati Darbar and continued his services. He was so popular to support Peshwa BajiRao, He also fought 34 wars along with Peshwa, Later died of Surgical Attack done by Afghani Sultan Iwaz Khalji (title). his wife (Yashodabai) and son (JavajiRao) survived the attack as YashodaBai was a Martial Artist. Later BajiRao came to know about Mankoji's death and suggested his wife (YashodaBai) to leave the place and moved to Hirapur dolmen, Maharashtra. YashodaBai Herekar Ruled Hirapur for 35 years. Later after Peshwas lost their control on Maratha Empire and Britishers were successful to capture the properties of Peshwa's and other Rulers, Same way the later Generations of MankojiRao Herekar were unknown after his Grandchild JavajiRao Herekar, said to be that even Solar dynasty Royal Family lost all its properties and jagirs or were illegaly snatched by Britishers later their family gone missing even from History. But every Maratha still remembers that great rulers who served the Maratha Empire.
