Malar is a small village of 525 hectares in Tiswadi Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Malar depends on PANAJI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Malar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Malar's pin code is 403403[5], and village code is 00006600. The area of Malar is segregated as 327.74 hectares unirrigated, the 25.88 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 171.77 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of PANAJI and North Goa to sell fish and make their living.
