Make Me is an American screamo/early Midwest emo band from New Brunswick, New Jersey,[1][2][3] formed in 2004. The band consisted of 5 members: vocalist Danny Sgrizzi, guitarists Eric Rodriguez and Greg Michaels, bassist Chris Nagel, and drummer Evan O'Neal.

History

The band formed in early 2004 as a natural occurrence of all the members already having been tight friends.[1] Though the members had previous instrument experience, Nagel picked up the bass instead of a guitar for the first time.[1] Their mix of melodic and hardcore sound derives from popular inspirations such as Cap'n Jazz, I Have Dreams, and Saetia.[1]

The band released their first self-titled, 2004 Demo, originally with four tracks: "Rubber Sidewalks," "Hello Moon," "Relax and Adapt,"and "Let's Go Off On A Tangent."[2] The demo was released in several areas outside of the U.S., with Where's the Deer Head? Records released it on cassette in Canada with printed flyers and lyric sheets, Indifference=Mort Records released it on CDR and mini CD format in Portugal, and Damn Teeth/Like a Glove Records released it in the UK.[1]

Make Me was signed to Playground Politics Records[1] in 2005, where they released a split with Black Juju soon after and two new songs, "Snail Trails" and "Do You Ever Wish You Could Breathe Underwater."[1][2] On December 13, 2005, Cloud 9 Records released a compilation record including one new song, "But It Felt So Real."[4]

After two active years, the band split on October 14th, 2006[1][2][3][4] for unknown reasons. Danny went on to sing for Boy Problems[5][6], which later broke up; then, briefly played bass in the band Cassilis[6], before joining Boys & Sex[6] and doing bass and vocals for the band in 2009. Information on the other band members and future projects has not been found.
