Makanpur is a small village of 358.6 hectares in Nanpara Tehsil in Bahraich district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Makanpur depends on BABAGANJ, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Makanpur's pin code is 271881[4], and village code is 06441600. The area of Makanpur is segregated as 200 hectares irrigated area, 150 hectares unirrigated area. the 2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 6.56 hectare area not available for cultivation.
