Maharana is a small village of 624 hectares in Buhana Tehsil in Jhunjhunu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Maharana depends on SURAJGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 173.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Maharana is also surrounded by Two lakes. They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SURAJGARH and Jhunjhunu to sell wood furniture and make their living.
