Mahapura is a small village of 81 hectares in Indragarh Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mahapura depends on INDRAGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 33.41% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Mahapura is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mahapura's pin code is 323603[3], and village code is 02735900. The area of Mahapura is segregated as 47.48 hectares irrigated area, 3.21 hectares unirrigated, the 0.56 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 29.58 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of INDRAGARH and Bundi to sell ghee and make their living.
