Career

Olsson co-founded the ride-hailing company Careem in 2012 along with his business partner Mudassir Sheikha.[1] Careem quickly became one of the most successful startups in the Middle East and North Africa, providing ride-hailing services across multiple countries in the region.[2]

Olsson served as the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) of Careem and played a key role in shaping the company's customer experience strategy, which was one of the key factors in its success. He was responsible for ensuring that Careem's customers had a seamless and enjoyable experience when using the service, and his focus on customer-centricity helped differentiate Careem from its competitors. [3]

In 2019, Careem was acquired by Uber for $3.1 billion, making it one of the largest tech acquisitions in the Middle East. Following the acquisition, Olsson left Careem to pursue other ventures and continues to be an active investor and advisor in the tech startup space.[4]
