Madhur Sharma (born April 12, 1996) is an Indian singer, music composer, and songwriter. He makes independent music as well as covers in various languages including Hindi, Urdu, English, and Punjabi. He received widespread recognition for his performance of the songs "Kiveh Mukhde" and "Kaali Kaali Zulfon Ke" both originally sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.[1][2] Among his original compositions are tracks like "Dil Todne Ka Riwaz" and "Subah Se Shaam".[3][4]
Early life
Madhur Sharma was born and raised in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh to Om Prakash Sharma and Hemlata Sharma. He has two sisters.[5] He had to set aside his musical aspirations due to the unexpected loss of his father at age of 16.[6]
Career
Upon relocating to Mumbai, Madhur Sharma dedicated the initial phase of his musical journey to performing in various clubs and private events across the nation. During the subsequent years, he collaborated with numerous musicians and artists. His debut single, titled "Yaari", was released in July 2019, with Sharma providing vocals and the lyrics.[7] In December 2020, Sharma released his next single, "Aakhiri Hadd".[8]
2021
He released a cover version of "Tere Jeya Hor Disda”, originally by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, in February.[3][9] In April 2021, he introduced an original track titled "Teri Yaadein" through Zee Music Company.[10] Following that, in June 2021, he presented a cover of the qawwali "Kali Kali Zulfon Ke", originally performed by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.[11] Moving forward to September 2021, he unveiled an original composition titled "Dil Todne Ka Riwaz ft. RcR".[12] Towards the close of the year, he released another original piece, "Hum Dono".[13] To wrap up the year, he launched a cover medley combining "Kehna Galat Galat" and "Yeh Jo Halka Halka Suroor".
2022
In 2022, Sharma's musical endeavors included the release of a single titled "Dil Laage Na".[14] Following that, he introduced another original composition titled "Tu Jaanda Ae".[15] He also collaborated with Shipra Goyal on an original track called "Subah Se Shaam", which was composed and written by Kunaal Vermaa and produced by Abhijit Vaghani.[3] In mid-2022, Madhur Sharma presented a cover version of the song "Biba Sada Dil".[16] Towards the end of the year, he concluded with several more releases, including "Roye Roye", "Main Sharabi 2.0", and finally, "Dil Tod Diya".[17]
2023
In 2023, Sharma had a plan to release multiple singles throughout the year. The year began with the release of an original track titled "Poori Tarah Se". [18] Subsequently, he released a romantic song called "Tera Rang". This was followed by a cover version of "Bin Maahi".[19] Another release was a reprised cover rendition of "Kaho Na Pyaar Hai".[20] The most recent song from Sharma is a cover of "Sanu Ek Pal", which was originally performed by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.[21]

Madhur Sharma's musical influences are notably shaped by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, particularly evident in his cover renditions of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's originals. Additionally, he draws inspiration from artists like A. R. Rahman, and he cites Atif Aslam and Arijit Singh as his sources of inspiration.[22]
