Madasar is a small village of 7516 hectares in Pokaran Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Madasar depends on PHALODI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Madasar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Canal. Madasar's pin code is 345021[4], and village code is 02047600. The area of Madasar is segregated as 146 hectares unirrigated, the 3788 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 1987 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Madasar has One post office (Ratariya B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Madasar has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Madasar is a census village in the district of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 535 and has total administration over 105 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of PHALODI and Jaisalmer to sell ghee and make their living.
