Madar is a small village of 203 hectares in Gogunda Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Madar depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Madar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Madar's pin code is 313011[4], and village code is 03071700. The area of Madar is segregated as 36 hectares irrigated area, 22 hectares unirrigated, the 76 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 68.83 hectare area not available for cultivation.
