Mad is a small village of 922 hectares in Deogarh Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mad depends on AMET, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Mad is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mad's pin code is 313332[4], and village code is 02982400. The area of Mad is segregated as 2 hectares irrigated area, 101 hectares unirrigated, the 702.2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 117 hectare area not available for cultivation.
