MANSON

MANSON (stablished in 2014) is a Spanish director's firm formed by Tomás Peña, Gerardo del Hierro and Pau Lopez. They are well know for their work in the advertising and music video field and recently, by their TV Show 'Romancero', to be premiered in Prime Video on November the 3rd.

Biography

MANSON was started in Mexico DF in 2014 by Pau Lopez and Tomás Peña. But shortly after working in their first music video, they decided to move to Barcelona in their mother country, Spain. During those days, Sawe, the graffiti artist, joined them for a few years creating some music videos together in a purely animated style that was unlike anything else at the time. Shortly after, Gerardo del Hierro joined forces with them to create what it was the most exciting directors collective at the time in Barcelona. As their work kept attracting musicians and brands in the Spanish market, their name resonated in some of the most interesting production companies in the country. A few different producers reached them but it wasn't until the end of 2015 that they signed with the production company CANADA and started working in the advertising field making campaigns for a wide spectrum of clients such as Cupra, Pirelli, Latch, Asahi, Instagram, Google, Facebook, Nike, Adidas, Loewe, Stella McCartney, just to mention a few.

Their work as directors had a remarcable influence in the Spanish pop culture by collaborating with an emerging generation or urban music artists, helping shape their early days of their careers prior to be known as mainstream artists. Some of those names includes Rosalia, C. Tangana, Bad Gyal, etc... During the years as a part of CANADA's roster, they created an eclectic body of work hard to categorise, from purely hand crafted animation to live action shot on film, flying across all sorts of aesthetics and mix-media.That love for animation and new formats leaded them to create their very own animation studios, BLISS PICTURES, along Executive Producer Maria Soler Chopo, at the end of 2018.

In 2019 they presented a batch of different ideas they wanted to create for both film and tv, to The Mediapro Studio who were looking for new talent to develop at that time. They were selected amongst others creators and started working with Fernando Navarro in 'Romancero', their first fiction project, a TV show for Prime Video. Since then, they have established as a group of artist with a vision for business too, spreading their universe into new fields and being a reference for a lot of young Spanish filmmakers.
