Luke Vajsar (born May 17, 1979, in Prague, Czech Republic) is a Toronto-based solo bassist renowned for his experimental lounge music, which blends atmospheric melodies with genres such as funk, jazz, psychedelic, and rock.

Early Life and Education

In 1989, Vajsar immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, with his family. He began his musical journey at the age of 10, initially playing the trombone in elementary school. By 13, he transitioned to the bass guitar, drawing from his guitar skills, and became active in local bands.

Career

Vajsar has released multiple solo bass albums, including "In the Loop" (2006), "Soundtracks," "Prospect," "Electric Eel," "Solus," "Quakes," "Flash Visions," "Selected Poems by Luke Vajsar," and "Rough Around the Edges."[1]

He is a full-time member of the band CODEX and performs solo or with guests in the Toronto area. His music is described as experimental lounge, featuring atmospheric melodies and grooves combined with innovative bass techniques.[2]
