Ludovic Blecher (born in 1976) is a french journalist, media executive, tech entrepreneur and former editor-in-chief and chief digital officer at the french daily newspaper Liberation. He's currently the head of Innovation and ecosytem funding strategy of the Google News Intiative.

Blecher studied history at Sorbonne University before graduating from the journalism school of Marseille. He was a reporter and covered many subjects including Corsica, social issues and technology[1]. As a pioneer of the digital media revolution, he lead all digital activities of Liberation from both a business and editorial standpoint before joining the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard in 2012-2013[2] to work on readers revenue models for press and content distribution for quality information.

In September 2013, he took over the management of a 60 million euros Fund for online innovation in press[3] launched by Google and the french press association of political and general information (AIPG)[4] . He then joined Google to launch and manage a 150 million euro European fund for the press and media (DNI Fund) and then rolled out this approach at a global level with the Google News Innovation Challenges. In charge of funding strategy he played a key role in defining the relationships between Google and the press industry. As part of partnerships and product organizations Blecher designed and led the most important initiatives to stimulate innovation in the news-ecosystem with more than 250 million dollars in funding[5] . He is a recognized expert in journalism and the transformation of media business models and regularly speaks at international conferences.

Blecher is also a former member of the National Digital Council (CNNum), an advisory board for the french government, where he produced a report on education issues[6] . He is one of the co-founders and chairman of the strategic committee of the W school[7] and owned a journalism and innovation chair at the University of Metz[8] . He also serves as a board member of the daily newspaper L'Orient le Jour in Lebanon and helped them to achieve their digital transformation[9].

During the Covid 19 pandemic he launched the largest initiative to support local press with the Journalism Emergency Relief Fund[10] which helped more than 5600 media in 115 countries for an amount of 39.5 million dollars.
