Frank Adcock served in World War I in the Royal Engineers(RE) Service Number 33962.[1] He is famous for the Adcock antenna system named after him. On the 20th August 1918 his application to patent a Wireless Direction Finding D.F. system was originated and in it it states that he was a Lieutenant in the No 3 Army Wireless Observation Group, 3rd Army, British Expeditionary Force. His application was accepted and his patent was published on 7th August 1919.
After the war, Frank Adcock was a member of the Glasgow and District Radio Club.[2] At a meeting of this Club held at 30, Gordon Street, Glasgow, on Wednesday, 4th February 1920 "Mr. Adcock gave a most interesting lecture on Directional Wireless".[3]
