Louis Stancil (born April 11, 1990 in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American Celebrity Acting Coach, Casting Director and Actor. He is most known for serving as the head acting coach on Overbrook Entertainment and Sony's Netflix adaptation film Charm City Kings where he provided coaching for Meek Mill and other cast members.

Early life

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Stancil began his professional trajectory acting in local plays before ending up as an intern at a local casting agency where he studied his craft. When an agent from Abrams Agency came to visit the studio, that was all the motivation Stancil needed to head to New York where he got signed and began auditioning. Landing roles on several popular tv series including, The Wire and Glee, he realized he was interested in the behind the scenes aspect of Hollywood and absorbed all facets of set life from casting to producing. He soon found himself interning at various casting offices in New York and became a freelance assistant to some of the top casting offices in the city including ABC, FOX, NBC and HBO where he was an interpreter of sign language for deaf actors.[1] As the son of deaf parents, it has remained important for him to be able to advocate on behalf of persons with disabilities.

He gleaned the tricks of the trade and used his experience to help others make their way in the business. Louis was always compelled to help other aspiring actors in the quest by helping them better understand the business of entertainment. He landed at a Wilhelmina Modeling Agency affiliate office where his ability to recognize and cultivate people’s gifts would make him one of the agency’s lead talent scouts and helped elevate the careers of countless talent across the country.

Career

As a creative, Stancil has accumulated credits in acting, producing, and assistant directing in addition to his casting credits. Thanks to his notable skill set, years of on set experience and vast resources, Louis Stancil created a notable buzz for himself in the entertainment industry and in 2013, he opened his Talent Training Service Center in 5 major markets across the country, including NYC, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Chicago. In 2016, Louis was named one of the top 5 training service providers by the Hollywood Reporter. January of 2020, Louis opened LS Studios in Atlanta, Georgia and Los Angeles, California where he offers classes to actors, writers and directors looking to broaden their range and learn actual business skills.

LS Studios is primed to be a leader in not only actor coaching but an overall grooming studio for the brightest talent in the industry. Most recently, Louis coached Meek Mill in Overbrook Entertainment & Sony's anticipated film Charm City Kings[2], a Netflix adaptation film. Louis also recently wrapped as the Casting Director for a Pilot Presentation executively produced by Lil Rel Howery (Get Out).
