Early life
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Stancil began his professional trajectory acting in local plays before ending up as an intern at a local casting agency where he studied his craft. When an agent from Abrams Agency came to visit the studio, that was all the motivation Stancil needed to head to New York where he got signed and began auditioning. Landing roles on several popular tv series including, The Wire and Glee, he realized he was interested in the behind the scenes aspect of Hollywood and absorbed all facets of set life from casting to producing. He gleaned the tricks of the trade and used his experience to help others make their way in the business. Louis was always compelled to help other aspiring actors in the quest by helping them better understand the business of entertainment. He landed at a Wilhelmina Modeling Agency affiliate office where his ability to recognize and cultivate people’s gifts would make him one of the agency’s lead talent scouts and helped elevate the careers of countless talent across the country.
