Louis M Songz (real name Mpho Louis Manganye) is a South African singer, songwriter, and music producer from Hammanskraal. He is best known for his work in pop, hip-hop, and edm-influenced music. With a career spanning over two decades, Louis M Songz has worked with a variety of acclaimed artists and has played an instrumental role in mentoring young musicians in his hometown.

Biography

Louis M Songz was born in Hammanskraal, South Africa, to Gravis Moeng and Winky Nomthandazo Manganye. His musical journey began in early childhood, inspired by the rich vinyl collection maintained by his grandparents. As a young boy, Louis would entertain his family by dancing to music, sparking what would become a lifelong passion.

In 2003, he developed an interest in music production after experimenting with early digital audio software. This interest grew into a deep commitment to creating music, eventually leading to songwriting and artist development. Known for his generous spirit, Louis became a mentor to aspiring producers and young performers in Hammanskraal, helping shape the careers of many emerging talents.

Career

Louis M Songz released his debut album in 2009 titled Hustler's Ambition, featuring and collaborating with artists such as 2J Harmonix, Rythmik X, Smash BK, and Blaklez amongst others. The album showcased his versatility and ability to bring together diverse voices under a unified sound.

He gained further recognition as a producer when he released his single I Got Mine, which featured Blaklez, Decency, Smash BK, Killer 9, Rythmik X and Krossword which gained him a name in his home town. He further worked with renowned acts like Deep Level (formerly known as Hidden Force), contributing to tracks featuring Bongo Riot and Winnie Khumalo. His production credits also include work with Chrizz Beatz (947 radio presenter), producing songs for artists like Buffalo Souljah, AB Crazy, and Lucille Slade. He has also worked closely with a friend Bong Beats, who was signed to Open Mic Production, and contributed to artists such as Zanda Zakuza, Nomcebo Zikode and Soul Kulture.

Through his affiliation with collectives such as LXXXS Co, Louis has also been involved in collaborative projects within Open Mic Production as a graphic designer, and did works for all their artists including art for King Monada's single Ska Bora Moreki.

Has also rendered service to Warner Music, where produced for one of their signees, Ash Musik.
