Louie R. Coronel, Dominican Order, Licentiate (degree) (born November 12, 1974) is a Filipino Priesthood in the Catholic Church, ecclesiastical historian, and university administrator. He is the Secretary-General of the University of Santo Tomas, the oldest and the largest Catholic university in Manila, Philippines.[1] Father Coronel, who is also regent of the UST College of Science, replaced Fr. Jesus Miranda, Jr., O.P., who is now the prior of the Priory of St. Thomas Aquinas.[2]

Education

Before becoming a priest, Father Louie obtained his undergraduate degree in Physical therapy on 1997 at the Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela, Metro Manila|Valenzuela City, Metro Manila then successfully passed the licensure exams for physical therapists. He then decided to enter the priesthood through the Dominican Order and completed his certifications in philosophy and preaching at the Philippine Dominican Center of Institutional Studies in 2002 and 2006 respectively. In 2005, he received his Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree at the University of Santo Tomas. In 2009, he was sent to Rome to complete his studies in ecclesiastical history. He obtained his bachelor and licentiate degrees in church history at the Pontifical Gregorian University in 2011.[3]
