Loona Kalan is a small village of 4430 hectares in Pokaran Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Loona Kalan depends on POKARAN, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Loona Kalan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Loona Kalan's pin code is 345026[4], and village code is 02060000. The area of Loona Kalan is segregated as 2520.98 hectares unirrigated, the 824.96 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 1083.94 hectare area not available for cultivation.
