Loona Kalan is a small village of 1446 hectares in Gudha Malani Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Loona Kalan depends on BALOTRA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Loona Kalan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tanker. Loona Kalan's pin code is 344033[4], and village code is 02201800. The area of Loona Kalan is segregated as 93.15 hectares irrigated area, 790.55 hectares unirrigated, the 527.16 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 35.45 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BALOTRA and Barmer to sell ghee and make their living.
