Lluís Bonet Agustí (born in Barcelona, 1959) is a professor in Applied economy and Director of the Cultural Management Graduate program at the University of Barcelona. He leads the Cultural Management Program since 1989, with several master's and postgraduate programs, a line of research in the Ph.D. Society and Culture, as well as research and technology transfer projects[1]

He comes from a family of artists and intellectuals: son of the architect Jordi Bonet Armengol, grandson of the singer Conxita Badia i Millàs and the architect Lluís Bonet i Garí.

He was a visiting scholar at the Center for International Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1991) where he taught a course on cultural policies with Mark Schuster[2], from whom he received a great influence. He has also collaborated closely and been a visiting professor at CEPEL Université de Montpellier (2009). He has organized multiple congresses[3], seminars and conferences to encourage reflection and dialogue between the professional and academic worlds[4], and he has acted as a consultant for international institutions. As a researcher he has carried out a large number of works and participated in many international projects funded by the European programs Horizon, Creative Europe[5] or Erasmus+, or by the research or arts councils of Norway, being the coordinator of the EULAC focus[6][7] and CHARTER projects[8]

Awards

He won the 2023 ENCATC Award for his Outstanding Contribution as "a pioneer of Cultural Management and Cultural Policy education & research for over 30 years"[9][10] He previously won the CAC Prize for Audiovisual Communication Research (2002)[11]. He was recognized as author of one of the 100 best ideas of the year in 2015 by Actualidad Económica/Siemens for the Profestival project[12]
