Ljiljana Mijovic

Ljiljana Mijovicwas judge at the European Court of Human Rights with respect to Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 2004 to 2011. She is born the 21 April 1964 in Banjaluka.[1]

Education

She studied law and International law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Banjaluka, between 1984 and 1997.[1]

In June 2002, she defended her Doctoral Thesis in International Public Law.[1]

From 1991 to 2020, she was an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Banjaluka and received in 200 the title of Professor of International Public Law. From 1997 to 2004 she was a member of the Yugoslav Red Cross Commission for the International Humanitarian Law. In 1999 she bacame the director of the Human Rights Centre of the University of Banjaluka.[1]

Between 2000 and 2004. she was a professor at the European Regional Human Rights Master Studies at Sarajevo-Bologna, and from 2002 to 2004 she was Professor at the Human Rights Master Studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Podgorica. In both cases, she was teaching on Women's right.[1]

From 2001 to 2004, she was a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Open Society Fund executive board.[1]

In 2004, she became Judge at the European Court of Human Rights. Her mandate finished in 2011. She was cited in an NGO report for her links with the Open Society Foundation, as she seated in several cases where the Open Society or other organizations linked to the Open Society were involved, thus posing the question about possible conflicts of interest.[2]
