Lisa Winter (November 5, 1986-) is an engineer, roboticist, and television personality. She is best known for her work on the television series BattleBots, where she competed with numerous robots and is currently a judge.

Early life

Winter was born on November 5, 1986 in Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) with a Bachelor of Art degree.

Robot Competitions

She is a part of the team "Robot Action League" along with Michael Winter, Will Wright, Cassidy Wright, Jim Sellers, Rik Winter and Dennis Adams.[1]

Robot Wars

Winter's first competition was in 1996 at Robot Wars in San Francisco. Her robot was called "Dough Boy", and consisted of an aluminum base and horizontally spinning lawnmower blade. [2] She was 10 years old.

BattleBots

Winter has been a part of every season of BattleBots. She competed in Seasons 1 through 7, and was a judge for Seasons 8 through 11. Her BattleBots include: Tentoumushi, Mr. Squeeky, Plan X, and Mega Tento.

In 2000 Lisa Winter and Christian Carlberg appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno [3] [4] to show their robots and do a mini fight.

Personal Life

Ms. Winter is on the Board of Directors for Women In Robotics. [5] She also volunteers her time to make "hat tags" for The Marine Mammal Center in Marin, CA.[6]
