Political career
Lisa Schonhoff ran in the 2024 elections to become a member of the Nebraska State Board of Education in District 3. The incumbent Patti Gubbels opted not to seek reelection deciding instead to focus on running for the Norfolk School Board.[3]
She ran against Bill McAllister who was a former principal at St. Paul Lutheran School.[2] Both candidates running were registered as Republicans.
Schonhoff beat McAllister in the primary election 59.9% to 40.1%. However, both candidates were able to advance since the election is officially nonpartisan and they were the only two who filed. Schonhoff defeated McAllister in the general election 63.1% to 36.9%.
