OccupationMayor of Fremont

Lily Mei is the mayor of Fremont, and she has been so for the past 6 years.[1] She is also the first Asian and female person to be the mayor of Fremont.

Lily Mei was born in an unknown period in Chicago, but at the age of 3, she moved to Philadelphia, where she eventually graduated from Drexel University, where she earned a B.S. in business administration.[2] Soon, she married with a man named Peter, and in 1994 they moved to Fremont, and had two adult children.

After the two children were born, Lily Mei began getting active in PTA and school site council, and eventually she ran for the Fremont Unified School District school board trustee from January 2008 to December 2014.[2] Afterwards, she ran for mayor and won against Bill Harrison.

She has also cooperated with organizations that include Alameda County Mayors' Conference, United States Conference of Mayors, Mayors' Economic Recovery Committee, California Asian Pacific Islander School Board Members Association (APISBMA), etc.[3]
