The Doctor of Chiropractic degree programme at Life Chiropractic College West is one of the most well-known aspects of this private chiropractic school located in Hayward, California, in the United States. After being established by George E. Anderson in 1976 as Pacific States Chiropractic College, the college underwent a name change in 1981 to become what it is known as today after a merger with Life Chiropractic College (now Life University).

Life West was first established in 1976 by chiropractor George E. Anderson as Pacific States Chiropractic College. This event marks the beginning of the company's history. During its first few years of operation, the school was investigated for many instances of improper conduct, which ultimately led to the dismissal of two administrators. In the early 1980s, the school was led by three interim presidents until George Anderson, George Wentland, and Sid E. Williams, the founder of Life Chiropractic College, reached an agreement to merge Pacific States Chiropractic College with Life College. After this, the school was led by a single president. As a direct consequence of this merger, Life Chiropractic College West was established the following year in 1981.
